I know that no one ‘enjoys’ going to see their OBGYN but it really is important to go. As I mentioned in another blog, my mom had cancer twice. The cervical cancer was later stages and had my mom not skipped her yearly visits, it would have been caught sooner. She went five years without seeing her OBGYN. Five years.

While the statistics are significantly lower for men to get breast cancers, it still happens. According to breastcancer.org, those numbers are roughly less than 1% of breast cancer diagnoses, which means roughly 1 in every 1,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer, are male. Still, despite it being rare, the risk is still steadily increasing over the years.

What a lot of readers don’t know is that my mom is a double cancer survivor. During my senior year of highschool, she was diagnosed with Cervical cancer and then eight months later, stage two breast cancer. So I’d like to take today to give the ladies here a friendly reminder on the importance of taking your health into your own hands.
