4 Scams to Watch out For as a Adult Live Streamer

Live Streaming for the first time is overwhelming on its own…
When you add in individuals trying to take advantage of your newness, even more so. Most adult streamers have experienced a scammer or been scammed themselves. If you are new to the world of camming, make sure you keep an eye out for the following tricks users can use to scam you.
1.) Show me first – I promise I will pay after!
This is the easiest scam to spot. “Show me your ___ first to entice me, THEN I’ll pay!” There are thousands of ways that users will try to take a peek without first paying you. Whether it’s asking what type of underwear or bra you may be wearing and if they can “look at the color” or promising they will “pay as soon as their check gets in”.
Make sure you don’t show anything unless that’s a part of your orchestrated show. Those who frequent cam sites and tip models KNOW they must tip first before getting anything. You aren’t busting any bones by mentioning otherwise. These are pay-to-play sites.
2.) Wishlist Scamming
Wishlists are a wonderful thing to have. Put your heart’s desires all over for others to see and spoil you! That being said, many will try to find a way to take advantage of this useful tool.
If you offer an exchange of videos or actions for wishlist items, ALWAYS ensure you wait until the item is delivered to give them the items. Not only have scammers perfected the Amazon ‘shipped’ email but they will claim they bought the item. In actuality, they are able to cancel the order before it ships but can mark an item on your list as ‘bought elsewhere’. This erases your wishlist item as though it has been purchased when in actuality it has not.
Tip: If you are worried a user has done this, wait a day or two after purchase for the item to ship and contact Amazon. They can tell you if a wishlist item has been marked as purchased elsewhere or actually purchased for you.
3.) Purchasing App Scams
If you allow users to use money apps outside of the cam site like Paypal, keep in mind that most apps don’t approve of adult transactions and will close your account if they are aware you’re using them for such. They will put a hold on your money and it will be incredibly inconvenient if these are your primary ways to pay for goods and services.
A lot of orders can be reversed. It’s wise to use the primary camming site as your only way to get paid. That being said, it’s not realistic for many to follow this advice. It’s good to know that users can, for a short time after the purchase, reverse payment. Wait until the money is secured in your account before sending or doing anything.
Using an e-gift card is a great way to ensure you can apply something directly to your account without waiting for the transaction or several days. I recommend Amazon e-gift cards.
4.) The Model Promoter
This can be both a promotional account or a user in your room. If someone is looking to ‘get you more followers’ if you simply ‘send them some pictures or content to advertise’ or ‘do a free show for a winner of their contest’…RUN!
The only thing that will get you more followers is YOU. Don’t put your eggs in their basket and bend to the will of someone who is most likely NOT a sex worker and only wants your product for free.
Also, some cammers LOVE having other models in their room to converse with. This can be a blessing and a curse. Some adult live streamers will use your room to advertise their own. Some even may pretend to be models on social media and elsewhere to ‘exchange’ content with you.
If they start asking for pictures or products from you or advertising their room in yours? Get rid of them. There’s no place for fake accounts looking for free nudes or those who don’t respect your room.
Happy Camming!
I hope you have the best of luck as an adult live streamer! Be sure to keep an eye out for any potential scams and keep yourself safe.
