Time to travel with your favorites!

Yay vacation! You’ve made it. You put your out of office on and you’re ready to set sail for adventures and relaxation unknown. Maybe you’re only going to a work conference or getting away for the weekend with your hunny.

Or better yet maybe you have a solo weekend planned. Wherever you’re going you might want to consider packing yourself a little fun. By fun, I mean toy or toys. Great for solo or joint use, a toy brings fun for the whole trip.

ARE YOU FLYING During Travel?

A big decision to make if you’re flying is which toy(s) to bring and if you’re checking a bag or doing carry-on. I have some tips for flying with toys. The dos, the don’ts, and the who knows.

  • Put it in a clear ziploc bag. If your bag happens to get checked you don’t want some unknown TSA officer handling your prized possession. Put it in a clear ziploc so they can see it and don’t have to touch it.

  • Pick a smaller vibrator to take with you. Anything smaller than 7in is legal to bring with you within the USA.

  • Make sure to take the battery out or if it’s rechargeable make sure it’s dead. No one wants their vibrator to randomly start buzzing while getting their bag checked, whether you’re there or not.

  • Don’t be nervous about what you’re carrying. It’s completely legal and TSA is trained to spot people who seem extra nervous. Own up to what you have. If TSA asks what’s in your bag, don’t lie. Just tell them it’s a vibrator. Or if you are a bit squeamish of using that word in public say a personal toy, adult toy, or personal device, you get the idea.

  • Remember the rule of liquids. Any lube or cleaner you’re bringing must meet any liquid restrictions TSA has. If you’re bringing it on your travel carry-on, this means less than 3.4oz.

ARE YOU DRIVING?

Driving presents a much easier option when traveling with toys. Unless you’re crossing a country border, no one is going to look through your car or really care that you’re hauling three toys in varying lengths and speeds. A good reminder is to keep them out of direct sunlight and somewhere that won’t get too hot. No on wants to come back to melted toys.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

I know toys are fun and you know toys are fun. However, some countries haven’t caught on to this exciting element of life and have bans on sex toys. Such as India, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. If you’re unsure if your destination allows you to fly (or drive in) with sex toys make sure to do a simple Google search to save yourself a whole lot of headache.

TSA has a fantastic “What Can I Bring” search tool you can use. Enter “vibrator” or “adult toy” and you’ll get a nice response on whether it’s permitted or not. Currently the answer for “adult toy” is “Carry On Bags: Yes” and “Checked Bags: Yes”

DON’T FORGET!

Now for some important things not to forget. Lube and toy cleaner. Let me say it again. Don’t forget the lube and toy cleaner! These are very important parts of play wherever you are. Also, note that most hotel soap has moisturizer in it these days. That moisturizer means oil. Oil means it’ll destroy any silicone toys. You’ll be better off filing a small empty container with your cleaner or lube of choice before leaving home.

IT’S TIME TO HIT THE ROAD

So are you ready to travel with your toys? It can be fun and well worth it when you reach your final destination. They can only make your traveling experience better, whether traveling solo or with a partner. Happy trails!
