Anal Sex is another fun way to play with your partner!

That being said, anal sex can sometimes be a very uncomfortable, awkwad situation to navigate. These five positions are not only comfortable but a fun way to introduce new positions to your sex life (and to get started in anal play!)

1.) Straddler’s Ahoy!

Come jump aboard and straddle your partner. If the person receiving anal straddles the other person in a seated position, it leaves room for eye contact as well as speed and depth control. The straddler can easily dictate how fast and how much they want inserted anally.

2.) Side by Side

Seems pretty basic but this position is one of my favorites for anal. Have the partner that is being penetrated be the little spoon while the other curls around them. Sometimes placing a pillow between your legs can add some added comfort. Don’t forget, the large spoon gets full rein of the other’s body. So make sure to give the front some love and play with the naughty bits of your partner while engaging in penetration.

3.) Doggystyle!

I asked quite a few people what they imagined when they thought of anal sex positions. Almost everyone quickly mentioned doggystyle. It seems this position is one of the more common but don’t underestimate it. Not only can you easily control the speed and depth of thrusts but there’s easy access to roam the body of your partner with your hands during play. There also seems to be a depth that is reached during doggystyle that’s harder to obtain with a lot of other positions.

4.) Testing the waters

If you’re hesitant and new to anal sex, there’s plenty of ways to test anal with your partner. I recommend using fingers during sex or using a small plug to start. The anal stimulation while you are receiving pleasure with familiar acts can not only warm your body up for anal, but provide you with more comfort while you investigate. Anal can be a scary jump for some, it’s good to make sure sex and exploration is in a comfortable setting with someone you trust.

5.) Missionary!

With the partner being penetrated on bottom, the top person can comfortably insert anally but the bottom person is able to relax and not put forth much effort! This position also allows for better access with toys if you choose to add some vibration or additional sensations to your play!
